Build your first scenario

Open Financial Insights, complete the setup wizard, and launch your first scenario for a client.

Create and open the client's first scenario in Financial Insights so you can review the projected plan.

Before you begin

  • The client exists and enough information has been entered for the first plan. The Evaluation does not need to be 100% complete.

  • If Financial Insights does not open, record the visible message or blocked state and contact Planworth Support.

Steps

  • Open the client's Financial Insights. On a first visit with no scenarios, Planworth shows Creating scenario... and opens the setup wizard. That's expected.

New Scenario setup wizard on Base Assumptions for Jordan and Sam Lee, showing Scenario Name, Back, Continue, and Skip and Create Scenario

  • On Base Assumptions, enter a clear Scenario Name.

  • Review each setup page and use Continue or Back to move through the wizard. The pages shown depend on the client and the planning features in the scenario.

    • On Spending Goals, choose how the scenario handles pre-retirement cash flow:

    • Specify a pre-retirement spend sets a lifestyle spending amount. Available excess then follows the scenario's Excess / Deficiency deposit order.

  • Assume excess cash flow is spent treats available excess as spending instead.

Continue to the final setup page and select Launch Scenario.

To create the scenario from the available defaults instead, select Skip and Create Scenario on any setup page. This creates the scenario immediately, so you do not also select Launch Scenario.

What happens next

The named scenario opens on the Dashboard. Confirm that Current Scenario shows the scenario you just created before reviewing the results.

Creating the scenario does not change the Evaluation. If the Evaluation changes later, review the scenario's saved Assumptions or create a new scenario.

Common issues

  • There's no Corp / Trusts page. Review the pages shown for this client. Corporate Chart may be unavailable on Core.

  • The plan didn't move after an Evaluation edit. Confirm the intended scenario and its saved assumptions.
