Understanding personally versus corporately owned life insurance

Record the policy ownership shown in source documents without inferring legal, tax, estate, or suitability outcomes.

Planworth distinguishes personal and corporate life insurance options. Record the owner identified in the current policy documents.

Where the distinction appears

In Evaluation → Preliminary → Life Insurance, options may include:

  • Personal Term

  • Personal Permanent (UL, WL, Term 100)

  • Corporate Term

  • Corporate Permanent (UL, WL, Term 100)

Corporate insurance options belong to the Pro Evaluation context. After selecting an applicable option, use Insurance to complete the visible policy record and select Save.
