How to invite a new client to Client Discovery

Invite someone without an existing Planworth client record to complete Client Discovery intake.

Client Discovery is an optional Planworth add-on. It must be enabled for your workspace before you can send invitations.

Use + INVITE NEW CLIENT when someone should complete Client Discovery from the beginning and you do not need to connect the invitation to an existing Planworth client record.

Choose the correct invitation path

  • No existing Planworth client record: continue with + INVITE NEW CLIENT below.

  • Existing Planworth client record: use + INVITE EXISTING CLIENT.

  • Reusable self-serve intake link: generate a Client Discovery signup URL.

Before you begin

  • Client Discovery must be enabled for your workspace (optional add-on).

  • Have the person's first name, last name, and email address.

Send the invitation

  1. From the Advisor Dashboard, open Client Discovery.

  2. Select + INVITE NEW CLIENT.

  3. In Client Invite, enter the client's First Name, Last Name, and Email.

  4. Select SEND INVITE.

  5. Ask the client to open the invitation email, accept the Client Discovery terms, and create their portal account.

  6. The client completes the available Discovery steps through Complete.

  7. After completion, review the submitted information in the Evaluation.

A new row appears in Client Invites with an Invited status. It changes to Completed after the client finishes Discovery. Submitted information can be incomplete and is not an automatically approved plan. Review the Evaluation and correct or complete the information before relying on projections.

After review, build or refine Financial Insights scenarios and grant client-facing services or scenario access only when appropriate.

If the client cannot begin

  • Ask the client to check their spam folder and use the invited email address.

  • Confirm that the invitation link came from the intended client record.

  • Contact Planworth Support if the invitation remains unavailable.
