How to review accounts and cash-flow results after data entry

Review scenario accounts and cash flow after data entry, then trace unexpected results to the right source.

Use this review after saving client information and before relying on a Financial Insights scenario in a meeting.

Review the selected scenario

  1. Open Financial Insights and confirm Current Scenario.

  2. On Dashboard, scan the visible net worth and cash-flow charts for the overall pattern.

  3. Open Details and review the available account, net worth, and cash-flow tables.

  4. Check that the major accounts, property, and debts you expect are represented.

  5. Review a normal year and an important transition year, such as retirement or a planned purchase.

  6. Trace unexpected income, spending, contributions, withdrawals, or deficiencies to the corresponding saved inputs.

  7. If client information is wrong, use Return to Evaluation and correct it. If the scenario frame is wrong, review that scenario's Assumptions.

Financial Insights is a forward-looking scenario workspace. Statements is an as-of-today view, so the two surfaces should not be expected to match without considering their different time frames.

Existing scenarios retain their saved assumptions after later Evaluation changes. Review both layers before concluding that a number failed to update.
