Wealth Insights helps advisors identify and organize potential tax and estate planning opportunities based on information entered in the client's Family Info and Evaluation.
These opportunities appear as recommendation cards in Roadmap View, where you can review planning considerations, prioritize items, and track their status.
Wealth Insights is designed to support your planning conversations. Recommendations are discussion points rather than instructions to take a specific action.
1. Open Wealth Insights
To access Wealth Insights:
From the Advisor Dashboard, select the client to open their Client Dashboard.
Select Wealth Insights.
Open Roadmap View if it is not already displayed.
Roadmap View organizes recommendations into different categories based on their status.
Wealth Insights Roadmap View organizes tax and estate planning recommendations by their current status.
2. Review Wealth Insights Recommendations
Wealth Insights generates recommendation cards based on the client's saved information. Each card highlights a potential planning consideration that may be relevant to the client's financial situation.
To review a recommendation:
Open Roadmap View.
Select a recommendation card.
Review the information displayed to understand the strategy, potential benefits, and considerations.
Depending on the recommendation, the card may include:
Section | Description |
Introduction | Provides an overview of the planning opportunity. |
Strategy Explained | Explains the strategy or planning concept. |
Pitfalls | Highlights potential considerations, limitations, or trade-offs. |
Example | Provides an illustration of the strategy, when available. |
Next Steps | Outlines potential actions or considerations for further review. |
Some cards also display Urgency, Cost, and Complexity indicators to provide additional context. These indicators can help guide your review but should not be treated as client-specific conclusions or guarantees.
An individual Wealth Insights recommendation card displaying strategy information, potential considerations, and next steps.
3. Organize Recommendations Using Roadmap Statuses
Roadmap View allows you to organize recommendations based on their relevance and priority.
The available status categories include: Priority, Short-term, Long-term, Completed, and Unnecessary.
4. Verify or Update Client Information
Wealth Insights uses information entered in the client's Family Info and Evaluation to identify potential planning opportunities. If information is missing, outdated, or incomplete, the recommendations may not fully reflect the client's circumstances.
For example, missing financial information may result in fewer recommendations being displayed.
Review the Information Behind a Recommendation
If a recommendation appears to be based on incorrect information:
Open the recommendation in Roadmap View.
Review the information displayed on the card.
Select Go to Evaluation, when available, or open Evaluations from the client navigation.
Locate the relevant information in Family Info or the Evaluation.
Correct any missing or outdated information and save your changes.
Return to Wealth Insights and review the recommendation again.
Changes to the Evaluation may affect the recommendations displayed in Wealth Insights.
However, do not assume that every recommendation will update immediately or automatically move to a different status after the underlying information changes.
Review the recommendation and its status after making changes.
5. Discuss Wealth Insights With Your Client
Wealth Insights can help structure conversations about tax and estate planning opportunities. Rather than presenting the roadmap as a list of actions the client must take, use it to highlight topics worth reviewing together.
Explain the Purpose of Wealth Insights
When introducing Wealth Insights to a client, explain that the roadmap identifies potential planning opportunities based on their financial information.
Review Recommendations Together
During a client meeting, you can:
Open Roadmap View and identify the recommendations most relevant to the discussion.
Explain the status categories and how you use them to organize planning priorities.
Open individual recommendation cards to review the strategies and considerations.
Discuss any potential benefits, limitations, or trade-offs.
Update recommendation statuses as appropriate.
6. Wealth Insights vs. Financial Insights
Although both features use information from the client's Evaluation, they serve different purposes.
Feature | Purpose |
Wealth Insights | Identifies potential tax and estate planning opportunities and organizes them into a roadmap for review. |
Financial Insights | Projects the client's financial situation over time using scenarios, assumptions, and planning strategies. |
For example, Wealth Insights may identify a topic worth discussing, while Financial Insights can be used separately to model how a particular planning strategy might affect the client's projected financial situation.
Updating a recommendation in Wealth Insights does not automatically change the client's Financial Insights scenario.
If you want to evaluate a strategy's projected financial impact, open Financial Insights and review the appropriate scenario and planning inputs.
7. Print the Wealth Insights Roadmap
You can use Print Plan in Wealth Insights, when available, to create a printable version of the roadmap for review or client discussions.
8. Troubleshooting
A Recommendation Is Missing
Wealth Insights generates recommendations using the information available in the client's Family Info and Evaluation.
Incomplete information may limit the recommendations generated.
If the recommendation remains inconsistent with the saved information, contact Planworth Support with:
The client and workspace.
The recommendation title.
The recommendation's current status.
The relevant Evaluation information.
Any changes made to the client's information.
Wealth Insights statuses are used to organize recommendations within the roadmap.
Changing a status does not automatically modify the client's financial projections.
To model a planning strategy, open Financial Insights and review the appropriate scenario.
